As part of our commitment to providing a better banking experience, CHROME Federal Credit Union is transitioning credit card processing services from Visa to Mastercard following the Alcoa Pittsburgh Federal Credit Union merger with CHROME FCU. This change will take effect on your October billing cycle date. Please watch your inbox for additional information and card activation instructions.
At this time, no action is needed. On or around your October billing cycle date, you will receive an email with activation instructions. Once activated, update your new card number, expiration date, and CVV with any merchants handling your recurring automatic payments. Afterwards, safely destroy your old card by shredding or cutting it up.
Yes, you will receive a new card with an updated card number, expiration date, and CVV code. Your existing PIN will not transfer over—set up a new PIN by calling 1-888-886-0083 (or 1-531-262-5315 for international setup). If your account currently has two cards, two replacement CHROME Mastercards will be issued.
Your existing fixed interest rate will continue to apply to your current balance and any transactions made prior to the transition. All new purchases made on your new CHROME Mastercard will be subject to a variable rate starting at 12.65% APR. Your credit limit will not change, and there will be no credit report inquiry associated with receiving your new card.
Your new payment due date is the 18th of each month, and the minimum monthly payment is 3% of the outstanding balance. You can make payments via online transfers at chromefcu.org, through Manage My Card from external institutions, by phone at 1-855-556-1970 ($5.00 fee applies), or in person at any branch
Log in to CHROME online banking or our mobile app and select "Manage My Card" to register your new CHROME Mastercard. From there, you can view statements, make payments, request balance transfers, and set up account alerts (previous alerts will not transfer automatically).
Yes. Cash back rewards will automatically pay out on the last day of your October billing cycle. If you currently have reward points, please make sure to redeem them before they expire at the end of September.
The last day to process a cash advance is September 30, 2026. This applies to ATMs, banks, and credit unions that process Visa cash advances, as well as the Northshore branch location.
If you decline the card, your existing card will be closed and no new purchases can be made. Your current Alcoa interest rate will continue to apply to your remaining balance, and you will receive monthly statements directly from CHROME until it is paid off.
Please monitor your email inbox for specific activation details and continue checking this webpage regularly for all ongoing updates.
